He became one of the wealthiest people on earth, in the era of the rise of the nouveau riche, industrialists and bankers like Andrew Mellon, John Rockefeller, JP Morgan, Andrew Carnegie and Marcus Goldman. The nouveau riche was a cover for the opium trading Catholic Church, in the myths of JJ Astor he started out as a fur strader.
He was a mason of Holland Lodge nr 8. He owned an estate on 5th Av, Waldorf Astoria hotel, originally on 33d street (most important nr in Scottish Rite masonry), residence of Herbert Hoover and Frank Sinatra, bought by Conrad Hilton in 1972. The US branch of the Pilgrims Society gathered at the Waldorf Astoria.
He was the patron of explorer Benjamin Bonneville, son of Illuminati agent Nicholas Bonneville.

William, Gavin and Vincent Astor were members of the 1001 Club of Bernhard Lippe. Pall Mall Gazette editor WT Stead was a friend of Alfred Milner, AC Doyle, Cecil Rhodes and William Randolph Hearst and died on the Titanic.
