Else Lasker-Schüler

Else Lasker-Schüler was a German jewish propaganda agent used in program Modernism and Monte Verità scene, a center of the Ordo Templi Orientis.  It was a destination for German Wandervogel (=blue bird Horus) youth groups of Hans Bluher. Like Bertolt Brecht, Anne Seghers and Robert Musil, she won the Kleist Prize. She published in Der Fackel (Frank Wedekind, Arnold Schoenberg, Adolf Loos, Heinrich Mann, Houston Stewart Chamberlain, Franz Werfel and Oscar Wilde) of Karl Kraus.

She married chess player Jonathan Lasker and later Georg Lewin (Levite name, pseudonym Herwarth Walden) of Der Sturm, which published Karl Kraus, Franz Jung, Albert Gleizes, Lothar Schreyer (Bauhaus), Oskar Kokoshka, Wassily Kandinsky,...

She was in contact with Gottfried Benn and Zionist Martin Buber.

She was a friend of Karl Kraus and FW Murnau who made expressionist UFA movie Nosferatu with Albin Grau of Fraternitas Saturni.

She participated in the International Congress of Progressive Artists with Wassily Kandinsky, Oskar Kokoshka, Enrico Prampolini (Futurism with Filippo Marinetti).

She published in Die Weltbühne with Lion Feuchtwanger (Varian Fry's Emergency Rescue Committee) and Ernst Toller.

In 1934 she moved to Israel.

Gisele Stein played Lasker-Schüler in Putting Things Straight with music of Arnold Schoenberg.
