Glenn Seaborg

Glenn Theodore Seaborg was a chemist who worked at the University of California Berkeley and played a role in the Manhattan Project. In 1948 he helped isolating the element plutonium. He also helped discovering americum, curium, berkelium, californium, einsteinium, fermium, mendelevium, nobelium and seaborgium. In 1951 he and Edwin McMillan (neptunium) were given the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. He introduced the concept of actinide elements in the Periodic Table of Elements. He was a member of the Bohemian Club (worship of owls) and the Cosmos Club. He was chairman of the US Atomic Energy Commission from 1961 to 1971 with Leland Hayward (NSF) .

He was a member of the National Commission on Excellence and Education of Ronald Reagan (also Bohemian Club) and World Cultural Council with Hans Eysenck (MK Ultra), Edward Teller, Desmond Morris, Abdus Salam (Nobel Prize).

He was affiliated with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

He was president of the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences (AAAS, Franz Boas, Margaret Mead, the Climate Church).
