Louis XIV

Louis XIV was a French king and dictator of the House of Bourbon who ruled France from 1643 to 1715 and lived in the Palace of Versailles from 1684 as Sun King (centralised state based on the Divine Right to rule, a continuation of the policy of Cardinal Richelieu). He was educated by Cardinal Mazarin and the jesuits and married Marie Therese Habsburg in 1773 and helped to develop Scottish Rite freemasonry (with double headed eagle symbol of the Habsburgs). He worked with cardinal Franz Egon von Furstenberg. The jesuits opened the Lycée Louis Le Grand, named after him.

In 1681 he abolishes the Edict of Nantes and persecuted the Protestants with Dragonnades (Draco Orion empire, 400,000 protestants were forced to convert). He had jesuits Annat and Ferrier as confessors.

In 1687 he send 6 Jesuits to China, including Bouvet and Gerbillion, led by Fontaney, Kangxi Emperor in Beijing. He also sent jesuits to Haiti.

He also married Françoise Aubigné (ties to François de la Rochefoucauld).
