Marquis de Sade

Donatien Alfonse François (Marquis de Sade) was a French jesuit trained pornographic writer. He was imprisoned in Chateau de Vincennes and the Bastille prison which was stormed on 7/16 during the French Revolution to put jesuit Napoleon Bonaparte in power, 10 days after he left. He was elected to the National Convention (doctrine of the Left Wing Church). |

At the Lycée Louis le Grand of the jesuits he developed an obsession with flagellation (origin of the term sadism and sado-masochism). He fought in the Seven Years' War.
He was transferred from the Bastille to the catholic asylum Charenton with Abbé de Coulmer who used art therapy.
During the 20th century interest in de Sade was revived by Olympia Press of Maurice Girodias, jesuit Jacques Derrida, jesuit Simone de Beavoir (married to jesuit leftist Jean-Paul Sartre), Guillaume Apollinaire, Jacques Lacan, Roland Barthes, Georges Bataille, Max Horkheimer and Theodor Adorno (Frankfurt School), Willem Frederik Hermans and jesuit Michel Foucault.
L'Age d'Or of Luis Bunuel and Salvador Dali contained references to de Sade's 120 Days of Sodom.
Klaus Kinski (father of Natassja Kinski) played de Sade in Marquis de Sade: Justine (1969) by Jesus Franco with Jack Palance, Romina Power, Rosemary Dexter and Rosalba Neri.
Jesus Franco also directed Eugenie..The Story of Her Perversion (1970) with Marie Liljedal (Playboy) and Christopher Lee and Eugenie de Sade with Solanda Miranda.
Keir Dullea played de Sade in De Sade (1969, year of the 911 Sharon Tate ritualwith Charles Manson), scripted by Richard Matheson, with Lili Palmer directed by John Huston (friend of Roman Polanski), produced by Roger Corman and Samuel Z Arkoff (used sex slaves of MK Ultra).
In 1979 Pier Paolo Pasolini made a film version of Salo or 120 Days of Sodom (era of Italian fascism), produced by Albert Grimaldi (sodomy movie Last Tango in Paris with Marlon Brando).
Daniel Auteil played de Sade in Sade (2000).
Geoffrey Rush played de Sade in Quills by Philip Kaufman with Kate Winslet, Michael Caine (The Dark Knight), Joaquin Phoenix (Joker), Billie Whitelaw (The Omen) and Ron Cook as Napoleon, filmed at Rothschild mansion Mentmore Towers, used in Eyes Wide Shut.
