The Netherlands (Holland) is a European country founded in 1581, by declaring its independence from Spain (ruled by the Roman Catholic Habsburgs). Its most populous city is Amsterdam and its capital is The Hague. It is a member of the European Union and United Nations. In the 60's it played a role in the founding of the Left Wing Church. It is a dictatorship of the House of Orange-Nassau and the jesuits through a puppet show democracy and absence of a free press. |

History of the Netherlands
Aryan tribes were ruled by the Roman Empire and Merovingian and Carolingian kings.
1163 Emperor Frederick Barbarossa creates the title Prince of Orange.
1430 Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy founds the Order of the Golden Fleece (nordic bloodlines).

1517 Erasmus translates the New Testament.
Martin Luther's Protestantism and Calvinism of Jean Calvin spread to the Netherlands.
1568 William the Silent (House of Orange) leads the Protestant revolt against the Roman Catholic Habsburgs, start of the Eighty Years' War. The Duke of Alba, a general of the Habsburgs, suppresses protestantism with terror, cruelty and intimidation. William the Silent marries Charlotte Bourbon.
1584 William the Silent is murdered by the jesuits.
1588 start of Holland's Golden Age.
1593 Louise Juliana Orange-Nassau marries Frederick IV Wittelsbach, leader of the Protestant Union (Palatinate, Wurttemberg, Bayreuth, Hesse-Kassel, Zweibrucken, Nuremberg, Strasbourg).
1602 Dutch colonists like Johan van Oldenbarneveldt found the Dutch East Indian Company (VOC), the first multinational and participate in the colonization of Indonesia, trade of spices and the Atlantic slave trade.
1610 Louise Juliana Orange-Nassau's son Frederick V is made King of Bohemia. Menasseh Ben Israel, married to Rachel Abarbanel, moves to Amsterdam.
1613 Frederick V marries Elizabeth Stuart in London.
1614 founding of New Amsterdam (later New York). The Roosevelts and De Bilt (Vanderbilt) family of Utrecht migrate to NY (New Amsterdam).
1618 During the Thirty Years' War, the family of Frederick V flees to Den Haag, works with jews who were expelled from Spain and create the first stock market. 1626 Menasseh ben Israel, teacher of Baruch Spinoza, founds the first Hebrew printing press in Amsterdam.
1642 Henrietta Maria (Medici), wife of Charles I Stuart, visits rabbi Jacob Judah Leon, who shows her a drawing of Solomon's Temple, which becomes the emblem of the Antient Grand Lodge. She is accompanied by Mary who later marries into the House of Orange.
1652 Jan van Riebeeck, a colonist of the Dutch East India Company, establishes Cape Town, with slaves from Indonesia, indoctrinated with Christianity. The Dutch colonize Surinam (Curaçao) in Latin America. Menasseh Ben Israel visits London to meet Robert Boyle, Samuel Hartlib.
