Nicholas Roerich
Nicholas Roerich was a British-Russian writer-painter and agent of the Theosophical Society used in the Great Game, program Modernism (Symbolism) and the New Age Church, in alliance with the Fabian Society and the HOGD. He was educated at the University of St Petersburg. In 1900 he went to Paris and had painter Fernand Cormon as teacher, the tutor of Vincent van Gogh and Toulouse-Lautrec. |

He worked for the Ballets Russes with Sergei Diaghilev, Alexandre Benois, Alexander Borodin and Léon Bakst Rosenberg.
After returning to St Petersburg in 1901 he married Helena Shaposhnikova, a descendant of Mikhail Kutuzov, the Russian general who defeated Napoleon with the scorched earth tactic of general Fabius Maximus (Massimo, Fabian Society) and Modest Mussorgsky. She translated Helena Blavatsky's The Secret Doctrine.
In 1913 he designed costumes for Igor Stravinsky's Rite of Spring at the Ballets Russes, with Edward Bernays as PR agent to create media controversies.
He worked with Nicholas II Romanov. After the February Revolution of 1917 he worked with Maxim Gorky, friend of Vladimir Lenin.
After the Russian Revolution he migrated to Finland and London, where he taught a new form of yoga and worked with Buddhists Christmas Humpfreys, Alan Watts and Fabian HG Wells.
In Chicago he worked with soprano Mary Garden (MGM, Columbia Records).
HP Lovecraft made a reference to Roerich's paintings in Mountains of Madness.
In 1934 Henry Wallace sponsored his expedition to Mongolia and Manchuria. Wallace also supported Andrija Puharich and from 1948 he was editor of The New Republic of Walter Lippman, mentored by Theosophist William James.
He designed the Roerich Pact with Albert Einstein, signed by Franklin Roosevelt at the White House.
His son George was educated at London
University. His son Svetoslav was educated at Columbia
University.
In 1942 he met with Fabian Jawaharlal Nehru in India. For the American-Russian Cultural Association he worked with Charlie Chaplin and Ernest Hemingway.
