He started producing for Michael Jackson after his movie The Wiz (Wizard of Oz programming) with Diana Ross. He produced the album Off the Wall and Thriller with singles Thriller (music video with Rosemary's Baby theme) and Billie Jean (pink sky).
In 1985 he participated in the We Are the World publicity stunt of Columbia Records with Harry Belafonte, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Bob Dylan, Bob Geldof, Lionel Richie and Ray Charles.
In 1990 he produced the music of NBC show The Fresh Prince of Bel Air with Will Smith (wife Jada Pinkett member of AKA).
Kidada Jones played in Black and White (MJ song Black or White) with Robert Downey Jr, Jared Leto, Claudia Schiffer, Wu Tang Clan (Hip Hop programming), Ben Stiller, Mike Tyson, Marla Maples (wife Donald Trump) and Bijou Philips.
