Wolfgang Mozart
| Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was an Austrian composer of classical music and freemason. As a child prodigy he worked for the House of Habsburg-Lorraine (2 headed eagle as coat of arms, also used in freemasonry). His father Leopold Mozart was a mason and trained by the jesuits with bishop Leopold von Firmian as patron. Wolfgang Mozart had his own lodge in Vienna. Fanny Arnstein Itzig, Caecilie Itzig and prince Carl Lichnowsky were his patrons. Lichnowsky was a member of Viennese lodges Zur Woltätigkeit and Zur Wahrheit, also patron of mason Ludwig Beethoven and son-in-law of Franz Thun-Hohenstein. |  |
Caeceilie Itzig was the daughter of Daniel Itzig, a court jew of mason Frederick II the Great. She was married to Bernhard von Eskeles, who founded the Austrian National Bank.
Like the Mendelssohn family, the Itzig family played a role in the Heskalah, the jewish Enlightenment.
Mozart was a friend of Anton Mesmer and Otto von Gemmingen (Asiatic Brethren) and Illuminati members Adam Weishaupt (who taught at a jesuit university in Bavaria) and Joseph von Sonnenfels (member of the American Philosophical Society of Benjamin Franklin, jesuit Marquis de Lafayette, Baron von Steuben).
In 1791 he wrote opera's Cosi Fan Tutti and The Magic Fllute (of Pan,
the fool) with librettist Emmanuel Schikaneder (character Queen of
Night).
