Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe is a country in Africa, founded in 1965, with a population of 15 million people (majority of Christians) and Harare as capital and largest city. It is a member of the United Nations. It is ruled by the Jesuits.

1000 bc San people.

1220 Kingdom of Zimbabwe

1890 British colonists (Cecil Rhodes) of the Pioneer Column found Salisbury, named after Robert Cecil Lord Salisbury.

1893 the British defeat the Matebele Kingdom.

1894 The British South Africa Company founds Rhodesia.

1896 the jesuits establish St George College in Harare.

1916 the jesuits establish Kutama College.

1962 St Ignatius College Zimbabwe.

1964 Rhodesian Bush War, Ian Smith as pm of Rhodesia.

1965 independence from the British Empire, government with jesuit Godfrey Chidyausiku.

1979 state Zimbabwe-Rhodesia.

1980 jesuit trained Marxist Robert Mugabe as pm.

1982 Salisbury is renamed Harare. Jesuit Bernard Chidzero as Minister of Finance.

1987 Mugabe as president.

1990 Joshua Nkomo as vice-president.

1993 founding of Econet by Strive Masiyiwa (CFR, on the board of Unilever, Netflix and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation).

1994 the jesuits establish Arrupe College in Harare.

1997 completion of the New Reserve Bank Tower.

2016 jesuit Douglas Mombeshora as Minister of Lands.

2017 Emmerson Mnangagwa (ally of Mugabe) as president. Zimbabwean film Cook Off (Netflix) with jesuit Tehn Diamond.
